PROJECT: William Collyn Community Centre

The new community centre for Girton was constructed from piled foundations with a combination of steel frame and glulam structure to form the curved roof and it was finished with zinc roof coverings for a striking modern feel.

The building was designed to be highly efficient and utilised a high specification of external wall make up using modern technologies and several renewable energy sources.

The centre is more than just a hall, with full catering kitchen, changing, offices and meeting facilities all available on site.

The facility also benefitted from a detached overflow car park constructed using the latest SUDS designs.
