Godfrey & Hicks Builders was established in 1981 by the founding partners, Mark Godfrey and Jerry Hicks and have been Building Inspiring Spaces ever since.

The Company undertakes varying projects. They cover new build and refurbishment projects, in both the public and private sectors, in a variety of fields, which include Commercial, Community, Education, Equine, Listed Buildings, Housing and Developments.

From the outset, the Directors vision has been to offer value for money, quality workmanship, a high level of supervision, and to ensure a professional approach at all times while building inspiring spaces. This vision has allowed Godfrey & Hicks to develop a strong and diverse Client base. Its success is evidenced by the fact that a significant amount of new work is generated either by ‘word of mouth’, or as repeat business from existing clients.

Over the years, Godfrey & Hicks has successfully undertaken a wide variety of projects, employing a diverse range of building techniques. We also have vast experience of working within ‘live’ sites and in congested areas, where the planning and preparation are just as important the work itself.

With the majority of our turnover being secured within a forty mile radius of Newmarket, we have been able to establish a large pool of reliable and competent tradesmen in both the Labour-Only and Sub-Contract sectors of the market to complement our own directly employed workforce.
